Do blackout blinds block 100% of the light?
True blockout fabric blocks 100% of light through the fabric itself. With any blind, a small amount of light can creep around the edges where the blind meets the window frame. At your free in-home measure we'll recommend recess or face-fixing for each window — face-fitting the blind over the frame with extra overlap keeps a bedroom properly dark. For the darkest possible result, pair blackout blinds with blockout curtains.
Should I choose blackout blinds or blackout curtains?
Blackout blinds give a clean, minimal look and sit close to the glass; blockout curtains add softness, drape, and an extra layer of insulation. Many Auckland bedrooms use both — a blackout roller blind for darkness plus curtains for style and warmth. We supply and install both, so you can compare fabric samples for each at your free in-home measure.
Are blackout blinds good for a baby's room or nursery?
Yes — nurseries are one of the most common rooms we fit blackout blinds in.
